The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder' inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.
Caltrans District 11 Construction Department has developed this method of answering Bidder's Inquiries to better serve the needs of the Contractors who bid on our Projects. Caltrans District 11 Construction Department will post all of the questions submitted by any of the contractors that are registered Planholders for that Contract, but reserves the right to not answer any questions deemed unsatisfactory for public viewing.
The BIDDER'S INQUIRIES & RESPONSES will be updated continuously and all attempts will be made to do the final posting by 15:00 on Wednesday prior to the bid opening.

Rail purchased for item 28 be used as Temporary K-Rail until ready for final
placement?

  • Providing and placement of Contract Item 28 - Concrete Barrier (Type K) shall satisfy the requirements of Sections 10-l.32 "PREPARE AND PAINT CONCRETE BARRIER (TYPE K)" and 10-l.33 "CONCRETE BARRIER (TYPE K)" of the Special Provisions for the above contract.

Question=The last sentence of 7-1.12B(4)(a) states that provisions of
Section (b) specifying liability limits/additional insureds shall be
included in all subcontracts for all tiers.  Does this mean that a
Subcontractor performing work for the Prime Contractor, with a subcontracted
value greater than $1 Million, must provide Umbrella or Excess Liability
Coverage of $10 Million listing indicated parties as additional insured?

Question=The last sentence of 7-1.12B(4)(a) states that provisions of
Section (b) which specifies liability limits shall be included in all
subcontracts for all tiers.  Chart indicates $5 million Coverage required
for contracts less than or equal to $1 million.  Does this mean that all
subcontractors for all tiers will be required to provide a minimum of $5
million Umbrella or excess Liability Coverage?
