Caltrans District 11 Construction Department has developed this method of answering Bidders Inquiries to better serve the needs of the Contractors who bid on our Projects.
The BIDDER'S INQUIRIES & RESPONSES will be updated continuously with the last posting no later than 15:00 on Wednesday prior to the bid opening.
Caltrans District 11 Construction Department will post all of the questions submitted by any of the registered Planholders for that Contract, but reserves the right not to answer any questions deemed unsatisfactory for public viewing.

Is it your intent that the contractor handle the slurry residue twice? First, transport to a drying location and then haul the dry residue somewhere else. The interpretation is for the contractor to properly dispose of all residue, the number of times it is handled will be determined by the contractor. |

Stage 1 & Stage 2 shown on plan sheet 8 & 9 require a minimum of 3 ramp closures. There is no detour shown for the ramp closures for Regents Road. The requirements for Chart No. 10 are stated under the remarks and should be bid accordingly. |

The typical section shows no backfill behind the dike, but the existing field conditions have backfill behind the dike. To maintain existing conditions will backfill be replaced and how will it be paid since there is no item of pay for import borrow? Any backfill required is fully included in Items 21, 22, 23, 24, & 25 per Section 39-8.02 of the Standard Specifications: Full compensation for any necessary excavation, backfill and preparation of the area shall be considered as included in the contract price paid per meter for place aspahalt concrete dike and no additional compensation will be allowed therefor. |
