Caltrans District 11 Construction Department has developed this method of answering Bidders Inquiries to better serve the needs of the Contractors who bid on our Projects.

The BIDDER'S INQUIRIES & RESPONSES will be updated continuously with the last posting no later than 15:00 on Wednesday prior to the bid opening.

Caltrans District 11 Construction Department will post all of the questions submitted by any of the registered Planholders for that Contract, but reserves the right not to answer any questions deemed unsatisfactory for public viewing.

1	Plan Sheet / Specification Reference=Special Provisions, Section 10-1.07 MAINTAINING TRAFFIC Are there Traffic Charts missing? Do we have one-way traffic control in areas with only two lanes? See Addendum No. 2.
2	Plan Sheet / Specification Reference=COLD PLANE ASPHALT PAVEMENT 45, 60, 75 MM AND RUBBER TYPE G. How are the utility adjustments IE (manholes, watervalves, gas etc) to be paid for? For cold plane areas (Items 4, 5 & 6) as shown on the plans there is no indication for any adjustments to the existing utilities therefor no payment would be necessary. Per Section 7-1.11 PRESERVATION OF PROPERTY the existing utility facilities should be protected from damage during cold plane and paving operations and any measures required for locating and protecting the utilities is included in the items of work.
3	Plan Sheet / Specification Reference=Special Provisions, Section 10-1.07 MAINTAINING TRAFFIC Temperature history in the Imperial Valley indicates that we will not achieve temperatures needed for paving at night, can we get charts for daytime work? Bid it as you see it.
