Plan Sheet / Specification Reference=Plan
Sheet / Specification Reference=Item # 11, Asphalt Concrete, Special Provision
Section 10-1.18
Question=We question the applicability of the tapered notched wedge spec and joint compaction requirement on a ramp rehab job. In the hidden text on your web site for standard special provisions, spec writers are instructed "The tapered notched wedge option for longitudinal joints may be allowed for divided highways with asphalt concrete thicker than 45mm. This would indicate that they don't expect it to be used on ramp mill and paves. We request that this spec be eliminated from the contract by addenda.
