Caltrans District 11 Construction Department
has developed this method of answering Bidder's Inquiries to better serve
the needs of the Contractors who bid on our Projects. Caltrans District
11 Construction Department will post all of the questions submitted by
any of the contractors that are registered Planholders for that Contract,
but reserves the right to not answer any questions deemed unsatisfactory
for public viewing.
The BIDDER'S INQUIRIES
& RESPONSES will be updated continuously and all attempts will be made
to do the final posting by 15:00 on Wednesday prior to the bid opening.

On the summary
quantities sheet Q-6, Metal Beam Guard Rail there is a (N) non pay item
for Guard Rail Connect to Bridge Rail, Retaining Walls and Abutments Standard
Plan A77J for Guard Rail Runs 1, 2, 3, 5, 7&8. The scope of work for
this project is removal of existing Guard Rail and Anchors to be replaced
by the Terminal System (Type SRT). There is no work to be done at the Bridge
Rail Connections. So the question is; what is the intent of including this
(N) Non Pay item?
