When will the cross sections be available and where?

Is ditch behind wall "361L1" a type A or B concrete channel as shown on sheet 349. Retaining wall quantities shown on sheet 533 do not include quantities for walls "331R" and "361L1" - What are the quantities?  Will this change the bid quantity? Where is colored ditch lining shown on drawings (Bid item # 186)?

Metal Beam Guardrail is not shown on the layout sheets. please provide new layout drawing and/or stationing.

Where are the plan sheets for this retaining wall?

 These two sheets do not seem to coincide with the other sheets for this structure (Carmel Mountain Road OC).  Can you please supply the correct general plan sheets 1 and 2 for this structure showing the plan view and typical sections for stages 1 and 2 that match the rest of the plans. Without these sheets, we cannot determine the correct staging and removal sequence among other important details.  I understand that this is a design sequencing project.  Regardless, I would expect even preliminary design plans to include proper general plan sheets.  It appears as though the current sheets 881, and 882 were earlier design concepts for this structure because they only show two parallel superstructures rather than the three bridge design shown in subsequent sheets. The revision dates at the lower right of these two sheets seem to support this conclusion.  Given that general plan sheet three (sheet 883)shows the correct section, as do all the other sheets I would hope that the correct versions of the first two sheets are also available.  Additionally, please clarify which set of quantities are correct for this structure.  I assume that those on sheet 884 are correct not those shown on sheet 881.

 These two plan sheets refer to a portion of Wall "335L" which is shown in the structure plans. The structure plans do not show this portion of the wall.  Will the design of this portion of the wall be available before bid, or is this a part of the future design sequence?  Do the bid quantities for this wall on sheet 533 include amounts for this portion of this wall? If so, what design has been assumed to calculate those quantities?

2. Backfill quantities (sheet 533) for Walls 322L, 327L, 335L, 353R, 357R, 357R1, 361L, and 361L1, seem to be grossly wrong.  Please clarify?

Plan sheets #745, 746,747, 765, 766, 767, 768, 769, 770, of the electrical portion are blank,  Are these to remain blank or is an addendum to follow correcting this?  This impacts bid items 241, 243, 244, 245.

Ditch lining quantities for retaining walls 331R & 361L1 are not shown on sheet 533-
What are the ditch lining quantities? 
On what plan sheets is the colored ditch lining shown?  These questions were asked on inquiry #2, but not answered?

• The ditch lining quantities for retaining wall 331R and 361L1 are  5.85 cubic meters and 11.5 cubic meters respectively.
• No additional information will be provided regarding the colored ditch lining due to the Design Sequencing bid process before bid opening. 

If you replace sheet 881 per question #5 then you would use the quantity of 4,000 M3 from sheet 884. However the quantity given on sheet 881 is actually closer to our take off. It seems there is some confusion on this bridge as to what is to be built and what quantities are correct. As this is a final pay item, it must be cleared up and time given to complete a reasonable take off in order to establish a fair unit price.

Due to a heavy bidding schedule, we may not be able to submit a proposal for the project in reference unless the bid date is postponed. Accordingly, we are respectively requesting the bid to be postponed by at least 2 weeks.

Typical cross-sections would indicate that portions of the
existing pavement will be removed as part of this project.  Is the
removal of pavements incidental to Roadway Excavation? 

•   Yes, it is included in the volume of Roadway Excavation.

Specification Section 10-1.01 - ORDER OF WORK, paragraph 6 states that
"Locations of stationary work activities shall be limited to 5 nights in any
21 day period. Stationary work is defined as sand blasting, bridge deck
grinding, erection and removal of falsework and bridge demolition."

We are having a difficult time understanding what is trying to be achieved
with the above paragraph. By limiting the time period to "nights" we are
presuming the paragraph should be directly linked to when lane closures are
available, for the above referenced work, as defined in the special
provisions.

1:   We are interpreting a location to be defined by a specific lane
closure chart contained in the special provisions. Is this assumption
correct?

2:   Is the reference to "sand blasting" meant to be for all sand
blasting activities or is it referring to the sand blasting activities that
may require a lane closure?

Station lines SD-15R and SD-15L are not shown on the staging
plans(pg. 381-384), just SD-15M. Is a revised staging plan available?

Question=Reference: Sheet 425 of the Contract Drawings (Contract 11-080904)

The work area described in section A-A is 4.9 meters wide.  The footing to
be built in this stage of the construction is 6.1 meters wide.

Is the stage construction plan going to be modified to provide sufficient
work area?  Or, is the footing and pile arrangement at this location going
to be modified to fit in the confined space?

• The construction staging will no be modified since per plan sheet 425, section A-A, the total work area available is 4.9+0.6+0.6 = 6.1 meters. 

Plans show 36-20A pole to be new or relocated.  Standard Plans (CT '99) shows either slip base or non slip base to be designated on plans.  This is not shown on plan.  Does the State want all slip bases?

Sheet 738 & 740 has a Note 3 with no legend. 
Sheet 743 has Notes 1, 2, 3 with no legend.  Can we find out what the State wants?  Sheet 762 shows to relocate a 15 pole and 3-1A poles.  The cost breakdown on page 281 shows to install 1-new 26 pole and 2-1A poles which is correct?
Page 302 Section 10-3.26 states State furnished video detection assemblies as in "materials".  Materials does not say video assemblies are State furnished.  Which is correct?
Bid item 244 "Communication Conduit Bridge" plan show 53C and 2-103C are we to bid a combined price for both?

The bid quantity for #188 shows 280 m3, while the summary of quanity sheet Q-9 show 20.8 m3.  Which is correct and will the correct quatity be shown in a revised addendum?

For bid item #189 the summary of quantity sheet Q-9 shows 678 m2 for gore #2 on sheets L-6 & C-4 detail. This quantity does not reflect the calcuation of m2 based on the dimensions shown on C-1.  Will this be correct prior to bid date?

Please define location.

Does this spec limit any combination of the 5 stationary work items to be performed within 21 day period?  For example; if there were 5 days of falsework erection and 5 days of bridge demolition within the 21 period.

• The location is defined as any specific location that will require stationary planned bridge/structure work and the total time is limited to 5 nights within a period of 21 days that includes any combination of the work specifed in the 6th pagraph of Section 10-1.01, ORDER OF WORK of the special provisions 

AT CARMEL MOUNTAIN ROAD OC, STAGE 1A CONSTRUCTION, ITEM 3 SPECIFIES THAT THE NB OUTSIDE WIDENING BE CONSTRUCTED. BASED ON THE TYPICAL SECTION AND THE BRIDGE GENERAL PLAN, THE NB EDGE OF SHOULDER IS WITHIN 1 METER +/- OF THE EXISTING ABUTMENT 3 AND WILL REQUIRE THE REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING SLOPE TO MAINTAIN THE NORTH BOUND OUTSIDE WIDENING. SINCE CARMEL MOUNTAIN OC IS PART OF THE DESIGN SEQUENCING, THE PLANS ARE INCOMPLETE RELATIVE TO SHORING UP THE EXISTING STRUCTURE. PLEASE VERIFY THAT THIS WILL BE ADDRESSED AS PART OF THE DESIGN SEQUENCING OR PROVIDE THE SHORING CRITERIA TO SUPPORT THE EXISTING STRUCTURE.

•  The Contrator will be required to submit a shoring plan for this portion of the planned work to address the needs of the exiting structure as part of the design sequencing process.

Which traffic charts are to be used for the bridge demolition at the three locations?
also, can both directions of the highway be closed at the same time?
