| The
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is
in the early stages of Interstate 5 improvements from
Genesee Avenue in San Diego to Vandergrift Boulevard
in Oceanside.
In
January 2004 Caltrans held a series of
"Public Scoping" meetings allowing residents
and business owners to get early information on this
up coming project. All though these series of meetings
has already passed, Caltrans would still like your
input for the vital success of this project. Your
participation will help maintain the lifestyle that
we have come to enjoy.
Most
people agree that we already spend too much time in
our cars, but it's expected to get worse without the
needed improvements along I-5. For instance, traffic
congestion during peak commute hours is expected to
extend much further into the evening by the year 2030.
It is likely that traffic will be bumper to bumper on
weekends as well without such upgrades.
