SR-4 Wagon Trail Realignment Project
The State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in coordination with Calaveras County Department of Public Works (County), is moving into the next phase of development for the State Route 4 Wagon Trail Realignment Project. Caltrans and the County have worked with the local property owners to develop alternative alignments that are environmentally conscious, cost effective, and meet current engineering standards. Through the public outreach process, several alternatives were identified as meeting the necessary criteria and these alternatives are now being advanced to the next stage of development, the Project Approval and Environmental Documentation phase, or PA/ED phase.
