2008 Scholarship Program

District 1, in conjunction with SEIU Local 1000 DLC 749 and the California Transportation Foundation (CTF), is pleased to announce the availability of a $500 scholarship.

The scholarship is competitive and based upon the applicant’s commitment to a career in transportation, academic record and participation in extra-curricular or community-related activities. Financial need will be a consideration but not a primary factor. Applicants must meet the following general criteria:

  1. Must be a high school senior or first or second-year college student in Humboldt, Del Norte, Lake or Mendocino County
  2. Must plan to pursue a career in transportation.
  3. Must provide an official transcript to verify Grade Point Average (GPA).
  4. Must provide a description of participation in extra-curricular and/or community-related activities.
  5. Letters of recommendation will be considered.

Please note: Students related to Caltrans’ employees may apply.

Applications must be postmarked by May 15, 2008. Caltrans’ employees, SEIU Local 1000 DLC 749 and the CTF, a non-profit organization, support the Caltrans – District 1 Scholarship Program.
