Multimodal Planning
District 1 Multimodal Planning is responsible for administering State and Federal programs that fund projects that deliver rail, pedestrian and bicycle facilities at the regional and interregional level. The District also provides technical assistance and guidance to local agencies on planning issues associated with project development and delivery, and coordinates between Federal, State, and local agency project sponsors. A special area of emphasis is the District's role in supporting the efforts of the North Coast Railroad Authority (NCRA). NCRA owns the rail line from Healdsburg, CA to Eureka, CA.
