Ruby 2 - Introduction

This $2.1 to $3 million project proposes to improve Route 197 from Post Mile 3.2 to 4.0 to accommodate STAA trucks. The current alignment consists of several tight, reversing curves, with little or no shoulder. Under the current configuration, STAA trucks would have to encroach into the oncoming lane in order to keep all wheels on the roadway or avoid trees adjacent to the roadway. The proposed improvements will accommodate STAA trucks, increase sight distance, and enhance safety.
