Ruby 1 - Introduction

This $2 to $2.8 million project proposes to improve Route 197 at near Ruby Van Deventer County Park (Post Mile 4.5) to accommodate STAA trucks. Route 197 through the project limits is a sharply curving two-lane roadway with little to no shoulders. Under the current configuration, STAA trucks would have to encroach into the oncoming lane in order to keep all wheels on the roadway. The proposed improvements will accommodate STAA vehicles, increase sight distance, and enhance safety.
