Alejandra Lopez (left), a Cal State Northride senior, and Pavitee Aguirre (right), an East Los Angeles Community College freshman, worked as interns in several District 7 divisions this fall as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Entrepreneurial Training Women and Girls Internship Program. The goals of the program are to increase the participation of women in the transportation industry and prepare young women to become our nation’s future leaders. In addition to valuable work experience, Lopez and Aguirre also received $1,000 scholarships.
