During the district staff meeting on November 2, 2009, Associate Information Systems Specialist, Jaime Velasquez presented Chief Deputy District Director, Raja Mitwasi with an American flag that was flown over the 304th Sustainment Brigade in Balad, Iraq on behalf of Caltrans. Velasquez, an Army reservist at the rank of Sergeant Major, was stationed in Iraq from October 2008 to October 2009. Velasquez has been a soldier for 30 years in active and reserve duties.
