Inquiry #3: The project includes an item for Rdway Exc (Type Z-2) ADL. This item is specific to the excavation required for the Concrete Barrier Type 60 SD locations. The bid item does not allow for excavations that may be required for the Concrete Barrier Type 60M (4439'), or for excavations that may be required for the Vegetation Control Minor Concrete (14,200 SY).
The excavation/grading for each of these items will generate excess material, and this surface material is Z-2 ADL. How will the contractor be compensated for the removal of this additional Z-2 ADL material, or can this fill be left on-site adjacent to the excavation?
