Inquiry #1: It appears from the bid documents that it will be the general contractor's (or their subcontractor) responsibility to perform any electrical trenching, conduit installation, and back fill. I have spoken with the City of Shasta Lake Electric Dept., and it sounds like they will be installing the lighting fixtures and conductors and associated wiring, but it is not totally clear in the bid docs as to which scopes of the work are the contractors, and which are the city's. Line Item # 51 -Lighting Foundations - explains the light pole bases themselves, but which line item(s) would encompass the electrical trenching, conduit , and back filling work? Please Clarify .

Response #2:
Your attention is directed to plan sheets E-1, E-2, and E-3, Lighting (Foundations) sheets. The trenching, conduit and pull boxes are shown on those sheets. This material and related work should be included in the Contractor’s bid for Item 51, Lighting Foundations. Please bid per the current contract documents.

Inquiry #2: Is there any indication as to when the project would be starting construction? There are notes in the paving specifications that note that no HMA should be placed in the roadyway during the time period from NOV 1 to MAY 1. Will this requirement have an impact on the actual start date of construction activities?
