Deputy District Director of Construction
As Deputy District Director for the California Department of Transportation, District 7 (Los Angeles and Ventura counties), Mr. Archuleta is responsible for managing and overseeing the work of over 325 employees who are administering a $2.3 billion construction program in District 7. He has been in this position since spring 2013.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Construction Area Manager where he was responsible for the management and administration of highway construction projects for northern Los Angeles County. Mr. Archuleta also worked as a Project Manager, District Rail Project Coordinator, Tort Liability Engineer and Design Engineer for the District. Mr. Archuleta has been with Caltrans for 31 years.
A licensed civil engineer, Mr. Archuleta received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from University of New Mexico.
He was born and raised in northern New Mexico, is married and has three children and three grandchildren.
