Highway 89 "Y" to Cascade Road Project

DESCRIPTION

The project is partially located within the City of South Lake Tahoe (CSLT) on Route 89 between the “Y” and Cascade Road. The first 1.1 miles of the project is a four-lane conventional highway with a continuous two-way left turn lane. The remainder of the project, about 4 miles, is a two-lane conventional highway.

PROJECT BENEFITS

The project will collect and treat storm water runoff as part of the Lake Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program (EIP). It will also provide curb and gutter and sidewalks in the four-lane section, and widen the roadway to provide 4-foot-wide paved shoulders in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road. A pedestrian hybrid beacon and lighting will be added at Camp Richardson.
