Yolo Interstate 5 RHMA Overlay Project
This is an SB 1 funded project located on Interstate 5 in Yolo County. The limit of the work will be from post mile 10.5 to post mile 26.0 along Interstate 5 at five interchange locations within affected ramps only.
The project proposes to repair or replace the existing deteriorated or damaged open-graded asphalt concrete followed by an overlay of rubberized hot mix asphalt, replace AC dikes and AC over-drains that are deteriorated, replace damaged AC shoulders with dig-outs, and replace traffic pavement striping and markings within the project limits.
Purpose: The purpose of this maintenance work is to preserve the drivability and serviceability of this section of Interstate 5.
Need: This portion of Interstate 5 contains alligator cracking, rutting, delaminating and is degrading such that a Highway Maintenance program is needed to preserve the existing roadway ramps.
The Project Approval and Environmental Document (PA&ED) work and the Design support components are being funded from the State Highway’s Major Maintenance Program. The Construction Support and Capital expenses are funded from the SB1 Program.
