South Fork American River Bridge Replacement


DESCRIPTION

This project will replace the South Fork American River Bridge to meet current seismic standards and provide a wider structure to include standard lanes and shoulders, and accommodate bicycles and pedestrians.

PROJECT BENEFITS

The bridge replacement will ensure adequate performance during a seismic event and a wider bridge with standard shoulders will provide safer access for vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists. Roadway realignment of State Route will include construction of new curbs, gutters, sidewalks and retaining walls to meet current design standards.
