Lane Closures at SR-76/Valley Center Road Monday Night
SAN DIEGO——One-way traffic control will be in effect at the State Route 76/Valley Center Road intersection Monday night from 7 until 5 Tuesday morning. Construction crews will close one lane on State Route 76 (SR-76) from Rincon Springs Road to H20 Mountain Road and one lane on Valley Center Road at SR-76. The closures are needed to install temporary concrete barriers at the Yuima Creek Bridge.
According to Caltrans, drivers can expect delays and are advised to allow extra time for travel during the closures.
The work is part of the $15.5 million State Route 76 Valley Center Road Roundabout project to replace the existing three-way intersection with a modern roundabout and realign the curves just east of the intersection. The new alignment will increase the sight distance for westbound vehicles approaching the intersection.
Other project features include additional signing, sidewalks, curb ramps, high friction surface treatment, and landscaping, as well as a new bus pull-out.
Construction began in July and is expected to take about a year to complete.
