Southbound SR-67 Reopens to Motorists Weekend Closures in Lakeside Ends Ahead of Schedule
SAN DIEGO –– Caltrans and County of San Diego officials announced they have reopened all southbound lanes of State Route 67 (SR-67) to motorists, effective immediately. The lanes had been anticipated to remain closed until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 18, but work was completed ahead of schedule. The southbound lanes were closed on Friday, April 15 at 10 p.m. and remained closed for 39 hours.
The closure was needed for the County of San Diego’s - Woodside Avenue Flood Control Project. Crews placed a large box culvert under SR-67 which required excavation of the roadway to remove underground boulders obstructing construction of the County flood control improvement project. Crews found multiple underground large boulders and concrete slabs during the process. The culvert is now in place.
