SR 99 - South Stockton Six-Lane Widening Project
The $214.5 million project will widen State Route 99 (SR-99) from a four lane to a six lane freeway beginning at Arch Road to South of SR-4/Crosstown Freeway. The project will build bridges and rebuild existing interchanges while permanently closing some existing ones. When complete, the project will ease congestion, improve mobility, decrease commute times, and enhance safety within and through the county.

The Daily Vehicle Hours of Delay saved will be 4,722 hours. The Daily Peak Duration Person-Minutes Saved will be 5.5 minutes per individual and 376,053 minutes cumulative.

This project is developed through a partnership between the San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Project sponsors include local and state agencies. Caltrans is the implementing agency during the Project Approval & Environmental Document (PA&ED), Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E), Right-of-Way (R/W) and Construction phases.
