NewsCaltrans Employee Continues to Share his KnowledgeJeffrey Spencer, Associate Planner for the Division of Planning, Office of Goods Movement, has been appointed as adjunct faculty for the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University. He will be teaching Project Management (BUS 286) beginning the Fall 2008 semester. He currently serves as a panel member for the National Academy for Sciences - Transit Cooperative Research Panel, and member of the Advanced Transportation Technologies and Energy Advisory Board for California Community Colleges.
Spencer was also recently elected President of the MTI Alumni Association and has been an active mentor for Caltrans employees interested in the Mineta program. Spencer, as trucking and maritime specialist for the Division of Transportation Planning, Office of Goods Movement, focuses on truck-related issues, trans-oceanic shipping, port issues, trade flows and economic trends for the Department and its external customers. Previously, as a project manager for research at the Division of Research and Innovation, he worked in collaboration with California’s University Transportation Centers and the Transportation Research Board, focusing on transit, multimodal transportation and land use. He has also been lead planner for statewide Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) deployment plans. Spencer graduated from the Mineta Transportation Institute in 2003 and holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and Business Management from University of Phoenix, and an Associate of Science degree in Real Estate from Sacramento City College. |
